Makassar to Tanah Toraja
The trip from Makassar to Tanah Toraja usually takes 8 hours by car, but the weather was horrific for travelling. Flooded roads, torrential downpours and petrol stations with no petrol because the tankers could not get into the harbours because of the huge seas. However, the scenery was spectacular.
On the way to Tanah Toraja, I stopped to take a photo of a wedding group. The family invited me into the wedding and to eat with the family. It was a Bugis wedding, Muslim religion, the couple were from Jakarta and the family had travelled from all over Indonesia to be guests of this wedding.
